Big thanks to everyone involved, organizers, artists, audience and reality shapers – I had a fantastic time! It was really good seeing all good old friends again, as well as meeting new people or people I’ve only talked to online before.
For those of you who missed the CONDOM show, it may be of some comfort knowing that a live recording EP will be released on 8bitpeoples in early 2010. In the meantime, there are some videos floating around.
The (partial) line-up for Blip Festival 2009 has been announced! Make sure to buy your flights, trains, buses now – and of course get the festival pass!
And no, my name is not on the line-up, however I will be performing a collaborative live set with Covox on the Official Blip 09 After Party. COVOX + RANDOM = CONDOM!
This is most likely a once in a life time chance to see CONDOM perform. To get tickets to the after party, please help funding Blip Festival via Kickstarter.
This douchebag “performs” my tune Sitges Savepoint (from Bad Joke EP on 8bitpeoples), and pretends it’s his.
I’ve messaged him on Myspace, where he also has uploaded Sitges Savepoint, but renamed to Random Strange Places along with a bunch of other tunes stolen from other musicians, such as Goto80, Mesu Kasumai, Wiklund and Combatdave. Feel free to message him as well: http://www.myspace.com/tvdeathsquad
Edit: He has removed all content on his Myspace, and a couple of Youtube videos.
Once again, chip- and micromusicians have been plagiarized. This time it’s Laromlab aka Brandon Harrods who have been ripping off music by artists such as Crazy Q, Dubmood, Lotek Style and Dma-Sc (and released a full album with their songs!), but also Ikuma, Goto80 and myself… My song (Project24) was only used in a really shitty movie review podcast called “Popcast”, but Laromlab clearly claimed in a myspace blog post that it was his composition. Read it here.
He has now posted an official excuse on his myspace page, but the ripped material, including the podcast episodes, are still floating around on the Internet.
First of all, once again I have followed Karawapo’s (of Pepino) wise advice and (finally) moved over this blog to be hosted at randomizer.se, instead of wordpress.com’s servers which this URL simply was directing to before. Actually, I didn’t even do it myself, Karawapo did it for me! Thank you very much :)
Second, Chinese label Shanshui Records have started a side label called “Kill Club”. It is run by Sulumi and the first release which soon is to be released is a compilation CD-R with “The amazing chiptunes that belongs to future, and namely, the chiptunes that are purely classic.” – Now, how awesome doesn’t that sound?! When I also tell you that the artists featured on this CD-R includes masters of the art such as Covox, Blasterhead, IKARI, Sulumi, USK, Maru, Aonami and of course Yours truly, I won’t blame you if you just shit yourself of excitement. Anyway, a new post will come as soon as the CD-R is released and available to order!
Third and finally, I just wanted to inform you that I’m nearly finished with my third 8bitpeoples EP, and if everything goes according to plan (though, no guarantees that it will!) it will be released in April.
Last year my gig in Barcelona got canceled because I got really sick, which in turn made me miss my flight home, loose stupid money and go through a quite horrible travel experience (but very nice at times too, entirely thanks to Rabato, Yes Robot, Alicia, Rigo and everyone else). I was very happy when I got a new chance to take on Barcelona this year though, as the people at Lapsus Festival invited me to come and play for them. However, my happiness turned into another nightmare, when unreasonable bad luck and stupid misunderstandings made me miss two (two!) flights to Barcelona a few days ago…
I’m sorry it turned out like this – I’ll promise to come back again in 2008, and that time…!
After having a temporary website for almost a year that hardly ever got updated, I’ve finally (following Karawapo’s wise advice given to Rabato) decided to change my site into a fucking blog. We’ll see how this goes…
