Breaking Wave

I went to Oslo for a gig about 10 days ago. When I got to the venue, I noticed that I had only brought one of my two old LSDJ cartridges with me, which are loaded with tunes. Instead, I had accidentally brought one of my three weeks new cart, which was completely blank! Luckfully I had about three hours until I was about to go on stage, so I managed to compose this silly dance floor track in the backstage area, just in time for my set!

Some new stuff

| October 10th, 2008

I’ve uploaded a new Game Boy-song and two junky XM-modules. The Game Boy song is called Reducerad, and was originally made for my upcoming 8bp EP, but I’ve decided it doesn’t quite make the cut.  Get it here (randomizer.se) or here (8bc.org).

I’ve also made a little re-organization in /tunes. Now there a separate folder for each different formats. The modules folder, where I’ve uploaded two fairly new, small loopy tunes, now have a subfolder for “old” songs I did between 2003-2004.

The FM folder is now browsable (it was previously private), but there’s only one little test tune I did in January there so far… More things to come though!

Kill Club #001 Released

Kill Club 001

Yes, I’m a little bit late with this news, but anyway – Here it is! Kill Club #001 – A compilation CD with 14 chiptune tracks, made by 14 different artists, from five (?) different countries. Unfortunately it is only available in Asia, but hopefully some kind of European and American distribution will be put into action some time… Anyway, my song “Rymden Är Jävligt Cool” is featured on the CD, and you can download an mp3 of that here (Right-click and “Save Target As…”): http://www.randomizer.se/tunes/gameboy/Random-Rymden.mp3

Enjoy!

Spontaneous Devotion REMIXES!

| April 10th, 2008

A couple of days ago I got a message from some German trance dude called Nic Ginto on MySpace, saying that he really likes my song Spontaneous Devotion and that he “…felt free to keep up this wonderful melody and make a small Trance-remix”. Trance is usually not my cup of tea, but I admit that Spontaneous Devotion actually is kind of trancey, so it fits pretty well being remixed as a trance song :)

Ginto’s message also made me remembered that another remix was done of Spontaneous Devotion, back in 2006, by no one else than Spanish chiptune king Sergeeo! It is a NES remix and the second song he ever composed using FamiTracker.

Enjoy! (Right-click and “Save Target As…”):

So… there’s a “48h Challenge”-thread going on over at the 8bc forums, where one person at a time gets challenged in to composing a song in 48 hours, following certain rules given by the challenger. Two days ago, wedanced challenged me to make a tune with the following rules:

8-bit theme song for a unicorns and dragons vs. chuck Noris and David bowie (as the the goblin king) battle sequence with lol cats dancing in the background.

He is obviously insane, but I accepted the challenge non the less. The result (which is more of a 10-songs-in-1-megamix than an actual theme song) can be downloaded here or from the original 8bc post. Enjoy the madness.
